The Sterling Heights Police said officers responded to a 911 call around 4:30 p.m. reporting an armed man who may have been experiencing a mental health crisis, the Detroit News reported.
According to Sterling Heights Police Cpt. Mario Bastianelli, officers responded to a 911 call at 4:30 p.m. Saturday reporting a man with a handgun and possibly hallucinating inside the plant. Officers arrived on the scene and were able to locate the man in the center of the plant and contain him in a small area.
An employee was arrested after barricading himself at the Stellantis plant in Sterling Heights, causing an evacuation.
