Chrysler, which is owned by the same company as Jeep (Stellantis), reported the recall to the NHTSA on July 17.

A recall has been issued for thousands of Jeep Grand Cherokees because of a head restraint issue that may increase the risk of injury to passengers. The recall was released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on July 17, and includes 121,398 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles released in 2023 and 2024.

Stellantis officially issues a recall for over 121,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L models. Models at risk were released during 2023 and 2024. The second-row head restraints might not lock in the upright position. As a result, the head restraint could increase the risk of injuries during certain types of crashes.
