The once-promising partnership between the Las Vegas Raiders and defensive tackle Christian Wilkins came to an unhappy and abrupt ending Thursday, with the team releasing Wilkins due to reported contentiousness over his rehab from last year's season-ending foot injury.

The surprise release of the veteran defensive tackle comes as a result of how he treated the rehab from his foot injury last season.

And a fight with the NFLPA is now on the horizon. Wilkins signed a massive five-year, $110 million contract with the Raiders in March of 2024. In that deal $82.75 million was guaranteed, with $57.5 million guaranteed at the time he put pen to paper on the contract.
