Ari Aster, the director of the 2025 satirical black comedy Eddington, has revealed that he turned down an offer to direct the Spider-Man spin-off movie Morbius.

Sony reportedly approached a small-time horror director to helm Morbius, but he ultimately opted not to sign on.

Eddington' cinematographer Darius Khondji worked with writer/director Ari Aster for the first time on the modern western.
