The Los Angeles Lakers are set to face Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks during the Las Vegas Summer League. The Mavericks picked Flagg with the top select
If James gets moved, the Dallas Mavericks would likely be one of his top landing spots. When discussing the situation once again, Paul recently shared what he's looking for in the future. He later added that it’s up to the media to decide how to interpret his comments, and that his focus is on enjoying the summer for himself and James.
Handy was retained by the Lakers when the team parted ways with Vogel after the 2021-22 season and hired Darvin Ham. But when the franchise fired Ham after the 2023-24 season and hired JJ Redick to be the next head coach, Handy was finally let go. He spent the 2024-25 season away from the NBA, but now is back in action.
The rumors seem to bounce around on how interested the Mavericks would be in actually making a move to get him. The latest report comes from Dan Woike and Joe Vardon of The Athletic, who stated, "One team linked to James — the Dallas Mavericks — does not have interest in gutting its roster to match James’ salary in a trade."
While there is no merit behind any report suggesting that James is headed to Dallas, it could be fun to think about the idea of having a big four consisting of James, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis and Cooper Flagg just months after trading away franchise icon Luka Doncic.
