Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams has retired from the NFL at age 30. His agent informed the team’s general manager on Wednesday night, just before training camp began.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday that the Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver informed the AFC West team he plays on retiring from the NFL. Williams is 30 years old and played in the NFL for eight seasons. This comes after it was revealed the Chargers placed Williams on the physically unable to perform list before the start of training camp.
Mike Williams’ career was unfortunately defined by persistent injuries. From a back injury early in his tenure to a torn ACL later on, these health challenges limited his availability and performance.
