The mother of two children killed in Tuesday's catastrophic floods in Ruidoso issued a public statement, writing in part, "The injuries we have sustained truly show the story of a parent's will to fight and risk their own lives to give their babies a chance.

Boil water advisories have been issued for parts of the Ruidoso area where flooding caused damage and disruptions to drinking water systems.

With flooding dealing another devastating blow to the future of the Ruidoso Downs racetrack, the racino’s signature event will be held in Albuquerque once again. Albuquerque Downs racetrack president told KRQE News 13 on Friday that they’re glad to step in to help a second year in a row.
